Experiencing life as in a cult film - Home of the lone Kevin has been acquired.
Get ready to live like a movie star - Kevin's "Home Alone" house is up for sale!
This 1920-built beauty, spanning over 530 square meters with five bedrooms, has a price tag of a staggering $5.25 million (around €4.8 million).
A closer look at Kevin's house
Kevin's family's home from the movie "Home Alone," located at 671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka (a wealthy Chicago suburb), was acquired by the present owners back in 2012 for a tidy $1.59 million (approximately €1.5 million). The price has tripled since then.
The house underwent a complete renovation in 2018. Not much resembles the furnishings seen in the "Home Alone" movie anymore.
Most of the interior scenes in the film were shot in the gymnasium of the New Trier West High School in Northfield (Illinois). The house was simply too small for the film crew and their equipment.
For the filming, some walls in the house were taped to give a more festive vibe. The Christmas tree house in the movie never existed. It was constructed specifically for the movie and then dismantled afterwards.
The master bathroom has received a complete makeover as well.
Your very own basketball court and home cinema
The new and exciting additions include a basketball court and a cinema! You can binge-watch all the "Home Alone" movies in your very own private theater.
In 2021, fans had the chance to spend a night in the iconic villa through Airbnb. Now you can live there with a bit of change in your pocket.
However, be prepared for the fact that you might never be truly alone in the house. Hundreds of fans flock to the villa on a daily basis, making it the most visited and photographed property in Illinois.
