Hollywood casino driver arrested and accused of assaulting girlfriend
West Virginia authorities this weekend arrested a man accused of running over his girlfriend at a Pennsylvania casino last year.
According to Pennsylvania television station WPXI, the suspect, Christopher Michael Holt, 43, Pennsylvania, was arrested Saturday morning in the town of North Strabane, West Virginia, after local police received reports that he after reports of his whereabouts, Pennsylvania television station WPXI reported.
Holt was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He was taken to the West Virginia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Detention Center. It was unclear whether he was still in custody Monday.
The incident occurred on September 3 at the Hollywood Casino in Washington Meadows, Pennsylvania. The victim was identified as Hilary Whittaker, Pennsylvania station KDKA reported.
Domestic controversy
She and Holt got into a domestic dispute while the two were riding in Holt's car at the casino, causing her to get out and walk away.
Holt, apparently still angry about the argument, hit the gas and drove the car toward Whitaker, according to the report. He hit the curb before crossing it. The force of the car pushed Whitaker's body onto the hood of the car and threw her to the pavement, KDKA reported.
There was no update on Whittaker's injury this week. After the incident, Holt drove away from the casino.
Police Release Notes
Police have been searching for Holt since the incident. His arrest came after West Virginia authorities released his description last week and asked residents to call 911 if they spot him.
He is described as a bald man with brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. The police reviewed the casino's surveillance video and identified Holt as the suspect in the case. If tried and convicted of this charge, he could face several years in prison.
The Meadows Hollywood Casino was formerly the Meadows Racetrack and Casino. Penn National Gaming took over operations of The Meadows in 2018 through the acquisition of Pinnacle Entertainment.
Penn's real estate investment trust, gaming and leisure properties purchased the physical assets of The Meadows in 2014.
