VfB vies for the runner-up position. - Hoeneß: "We aim to create history"
In a battle for second place in the German championship, VfB Stuttgart will take on Gladbach this Saturday (3:30 pm/Sky) as they go up against FC Bayern. A victory for Stuttgart would put them in this coveted position.
Stuttgart's coach, Sebastian Hoeneß (42), is excited about the prospect of making history. "We're highly motivated to end this super season on a positive note at our home ground, surrounded by our amazing fans," he said.
This isn't the first time Stuttgart has faced Gladbach this season. In their previous match in mid-January, Stuttgart suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Borussia-Park. Hoeneß is determined to make amends, stating, "We're due for a win against Gladbach. We've got a tough competitor coming our way; we can't administer any complacency or carelessness."
Hoeneß is hoping for a fun and exciting match, but isn't convinced that a pitch invasion would be a good idea. "I doubt we'll witness a massive pitch invasion. There's always the potential for certain risks involved. I'm praying that we can all enjoy a wonderful day of soccer and share a thrilling experience with the fans."
