The quarterfinals in the EHF Cup have come and gone, bringing good news for all German teams involved.

Füchse Berlin came out victorious against Nantes with a score of 37:30 (first leg 33:33). In a close match against Sporting Lisbon, Rhein-Neckar Löwen were able to tolerate a loss of 28:29, as their first leg win of 32:29 was sufficient for their advancement. The last successful German team was SG Flensburg-Handewitt, who suffered a loss in the second leg against Swedish team IK Sävehof (28:29). However, this did not matter in the grand scheme, due to their dominant performance in the first game (41:30). Rounding off the Final Four was Romanian champions Dinamo Bucharest, who won both matches against Danish opposition, Skjern Handbold.

When and where will the Final Four take place?

The EHF Finals will be held in Hamburg on May 25 and 26. This will be the first time that the Hanseatic city hosts this prestigious tournament for the top four teams in the competition. The event will take place in a neutral venue, marking a new beginning for the event.

Have the semi-final matchups been confirmed yet?

No. They will be revealed through a draw that will take place on Friday (May 3) in Hamburg.

Who holds the record for most EHF Cup wins?

Since its inception in 1982, the EHF Cup has been claimed by a German team an impressive 26 times. The title has been carried home four times each by THW Kiel (1998, 2002, 2004, 2019), Frisch auf Göppingen (2011, 2012, 2016, 2017) and SC Magdeburg (1999, 2001, 2007, 2021). If Füchse Berlin can retain their title, they will join this esteemed trio with three titles to their name. They have won the European League three times (2015, 2018, 2023).
