Henry Ruggs Arrested and Transferred to a Las Vegas Prison

Ex-NFL player Henry Ruggs III is currently in Nevada's High Desert State Prison, as per recent news.

At 24, Ruggs was taken to the institution situated in Indian Springs, Nevada. The complex is around 40 miles from Las Vegas.

The Nevada Department of Corrections recently released his booking picture. The details on his location within the prison were not disclosed.

DUI Plea Bargain

On August 9, Ruggs got a three to ten-year sentence after a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to DUI leading to death and vehicular homicide. These charges stem from a lethal crash which occurred on Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas, in November 2021. Tina Tintor, 23, and her dog were killed in the collision.

Prosecutors stated he was traveling at 156 mph prior to the impact.

More charges against Ruggs were dismissed, like reckless driving, intoxicated driving, causing substantial injury, and a gun charge. A loaded weapon was found in his Corvette post-accident. Ruggs risked up to 50 years in prison if he had been found guilty of the dropped charges, prosecutors mentioned.

His blood alcohol level was 0.16% after the crash, which is twice the limit in Nevada.

Prior to his sentencing, Ruggs conveyed apologies to Tintor's family, his former team (Las Vegas Raiders), and his relations.

O.J Simpson Challenges Leniency

The sentence, given earlier this month, has been contested by former NFL star and celebrity O.J. Simpson.

"Driving a car at approximately 160 miles per hour on a public road and actually killing a girl and her dog and you get three to ten years?," Simpson posted on social media.

Simpson referenced his prison sentence, which ranged from nine to 33 years.

He referred to his conviction for the armed robbery of sports memorabilia in a room at the Palace Station Casino in September 2007.

Critically Injured Motorist at the Boulder Station Casino

An unnamed driver suffered critical injuries on Monday when his vehicle hit a wall in a parking lot at the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The injuries to the 32-year-old were "life-threatening," as per Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

It seems the individual was driving a 2003 Honda Accord around 7:40 pm on Monday in the parking lot to the east of Boulder Station Casino when he crashed into a retaining wall. This resulted in unspecified injuries.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers stated impairment might have been a factor in the incident, according to KLAS.

The driver was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment on Monday night. Police didn't have an updated condition on the victim as of Tuesday.

No other cars were involved in the incident, according to KSNV.
