Elderly People Targeted: One Fatality Reported - He cut the grass, then collapsed on elderly women.
A 76-year-old woman's body was discovered in her Hamm (NRW) residence on Wednesday evening, just around the same time the police apprehended a 49-year-old man. Her concerned relatives had tried to contact her but were unsuccessful, prompting them to report the incident. After performing an autopsy, it was disclosed that the woman had been strangled to death.
It is believed that the accused individual was familiar with the elderly woman and her home. Prosecutor Henner Kruse stated, "The suspect might have previously worked odd jobs at the crime scene, which is why he knows the victim. The exact relationship is still being determined."
Robbery suspect, known for odd jobs, had entered victim's house under a pretext
This wanted suspect was being sought due to the theft from an 82-year-old woman. He also used to do odd jobs for her, such as lawn mowing. It's likely that it was simple for him to enter the elderly senior citizen's house under a ruse on April 25th. Upon arriving, he threatened her with a knife, demanded cash, and when she refused, he wounded her. "He tied the woman up and escaped," according to the police account.
Despite suffering from a neck wound, the brave woman was able to free herself from her sewing scissors and flee to her neighbors for help. The man arrested now, who is a fellow neighbor, swiftly drew the attention of the investigators. However, he went into hiding, possibly taking refuge in the house of the 76-year-old woman he had murdered prior.
Arrested man confessed to murdering elderly woman, lived in her house for several days
Authorities tracked down the 49-year-old suspect on Wednesday evening while responding to a riot call in Hamm. In the patrol vehicle, the man confessed to the officers about his crime. At present, it's unknown precisely when the victim was killed. It appears that her killer spent some time living in the house with the corpse.
