How does LOTTO work?
You can play LOTTO 6aus49 online (LOTO.de) or with a lottery ticket. To play, you can purchase a lottery ticket from any lottery and Totogesellschaft acceptance point, or online.
The game rules are easy. Each LOTTO ticket has 12 tip fields with 49 numbers. You then need to choose six numbers from one of these tip fields. The Super number is the final digit of the lottery ticket number.
Six numbers and a Super number are chosen at random on Wednesday (6:25 p.m.) and Saturday (7:25 p.m.). You win if at least two of the winning numbers plus the Super number match the numbers you chose.
The maximum win, also known as the LOTTO jackpot, is earned if all the numbers you've picked match the drawn numbers. The odds of this happening are 1 in 140 million.
What happens if you win?
Shortly after the draw on Wednesday or Saturday, you can view the winning numbers online. If you've played online and won, you'll receive an email and/or text message.
To determine your winnings, you can visit an acceptance point of your choice. You just need your lottery ticket. Smaller winnings can be collected at lottery stores.
Larger winnings, or the grand prize, must be claimed directly at the lottery counters. The lottery ticket is required as proof. Only then will the winnings be paid out.
The payout of a large Lotto win takes place approximately one week after the draw of the lottery numbers.
