Going back to the teen center. - Halle transfers Halili from Jena.

Central defender Burim Halili (26) is making a move from Carl Zeiss Jena to Hallescher FC this summer. Both clubs are planning to announce the transfer on Thursday. According to the OTZ, this is what's happening.

Halili is headed back to his roots.

This 1.92-meter tall player comes from the HFC youth program and eventually landed in Jena via Fürstenwalde, Erfurt, and Chemie Leipzig. Now, he's set to assist Halle's team in their quest for a fresh start after being relegated from the 3rd division.

Carl Zeiss was eager to keep the defender, who has recently been sidelined with an acromioclavicular joint injury - but Halle's offer was significantly more attractive.

Jena only has two central defenders under contract who are fit for action, Khalid El Haija (18) and Philipp Wendt (27). Maurice Hehne (26) won't return until at least January 2025 due to a cruciate ligament injury, and Jena captain Bastian Striezel (25) has been connected to Greifswalder FC. His contract is running out.
