Goodbye to Reisinger - Halle suffers to secure cup triumph
Hallescher FC had a tough time in the DFB-Pokal at the end of the season, but they finished on a positive note with a 4:2 win over a determined third-league team in extra time.
Training Stefan Reisinger commented on his final match, "This was the most challenging week I've experienced here. The game had everything - it wasn't easy, but we managed to wrap things up."
Despite the relegation threat, the underdogs put up a good fight and were relieved that Hallenser didn't capitalize on their opportunities. They breathed a sigh of relief when Jannes Vollert tied the score in the 89th minute. In extra time, Erich Berko scored twice to secure the victory for HFC.
As Reisinger said goodbye to Halle, he left with the team's qualification for the DFB-Pokal. The coach expressed his best wishes for the club and fans, "Winning this cup was crucial for the entire team. I wish the HFC and fans all the best."
With Reisinger's departure and most of the team, there's a fresh start ahead. On the plus side, they now have a significant boost of €250,000 to their bank account.
