Based on news articles, an Egyptian soldier met his demise during the event. No hurt soldiers were found within the ranks of the Israeli unit.
Per the Israeli army's account, they're communicating with Egypt: "A short while ago, there was an occurrence at the Egyptian border which is now being probed. A conversation is underway with the Egyptian side," the military disclosed.
The Rafah passageway leading to Egypt was shut down by the Israeli military following the Palestinian faction's declaration of control.
