Heading to infant school - Guiding your grandkids to achieve intellectual greatness akin to tech pioneer Bill Gates.
Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, frequently recommends books on his blog Gates Notes. It's not surprising then that he enjoys reading to his one-year-and-three-month-old granddaughter Leila as well. He recently shared that he reads her "funny books" like "Quantum Computers for Babies," "AI for Babies," and "How to Babysit Grandpa."
Believe it or not, these topics aren't as far-fetched as they sound. The author of these books is Chris Ferrie, a physicist and father of four. Ferrie, who has a Ph.D. in mathematical physics from the University of Waterloo and works at the University of Technology in Sydney's Center for Quantum Computing, has a passion for making science accessible to all ages. Key to his mission is introducing young children to the wonders of science early on.
Ferrie is the man behind the Baby University book series, where he simplifies complex scientific concepts, from astrophysics to blockchain and the theory of relativity. Offering something for everyone, his books cover a wide range of topics.
Quantum physics, AI, and even blockchain – Ferrie manages to explain these complex topics in a way that even little Leila can understand. His books are proof that science doesn't always have to be difficult.
