Grateful Dead Museum Makes Its Way to the Venetian in Las Vegas
The Venetian resort on the Las Vegas Strip is set to launch an exposition showcasing the history of the Grateful Dead.
Dubbed "The Dead Forever Experience," the exhibit will kick off a day before the renowned Dead & Company band star in the Sphere's summer residency on May 15. It will occupy the same two-story, 22,000-square-foot space where U2's museum was unveiled in relation to their Sphere residency in September 2021.
The exposition will entail an art display by founding Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, a gallery of over a hundred images of the band, and "Le Petit Mur De Son." This is a one-to-four scale duplicate of the renowned Wall of Sound, a sizeable sound system created by audio specialist Owsley Stanley for the Grateful Dead's 1974 concerts.
Further, the showroom will include a merchandise store, unsurprisingly, and finding cheaper merchandise than a distinct 1967 Grateful Dead T-shirt drawn up by Allan "Gut" Terk could prove to be a challenge.
"The Dead Forever Experience" is free to attend and will operate five days a week during the Dead & Company's residency. Tickets for VIP packages are obtainable at deadforever.vibee.com.
