A property is set for auction. - Granddaughter of Elvis battles for control of Graceland.

The 34-year-old views the upcoming compulsory sale as a scam. As reported in American media, the house in Memphis will be sold to the highest bidder on May 23rd.

Keough, the present owner of Graceland and granddaughter of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, has filed a lawsuit and got a temporary restraining order on Monday. A hearing will occur on Wednesday.

In accordance with the US tabloid "New York Post", an insider says that Riley is "distraught" and "didn't think that this historical property could end up in the hands of some anonymous individual".

The troubles began with an assumed mortgage from 2018, where Lisa Marie Presley was said to have taken out a loan of 3.8 million dollars - with Graceland as collateral.

The Missouri-based company Naussany Investments and Private Lending alleges that Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away last year at the age of 54, didn't pay back the loan. Keough, though, asserts her mother never borrowed money from Naussany.

The lawsuit tags the papers "phony" and blames Naussany for not being a real company. In addition, the notary cited in the papers denies having notarized Lisa Marie Presley's signature or ever meeting her.

Elvis bought Graceland in 1957 for 102,500 dollars. Following his death in 1977, Lisa Marie inherited the estate, which was opened as a museum in 1982. After her death in January 2023, Riley became the heir. Graceland sees hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The estate encompasses 13.8 hectares and all the furniture dates back to Elvis' time.

Keough took over as the sole trustee of the family estate ten months after Lisa Marie's death, after winning a legal battle with her grandmother Priscilla Presley (78) - Elvis' former wife. Lisa Marie passed away from cardiac arrest at her home in California on January 12, 2023. The autopsy reveal her death was due to an intestinal obstruction brought on by a previous gastric bypass procedure.

Priscilla Presley made her desire to be buried next to her late ex-husband Elvis at Graceland known last year. Elvis, his parents, Lisa Marie, and their son Benjamin are all currently buried there.
