Gran Emphasizes Choctaw Casino's $1M Jackpot Success
In Oklahoma, the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant awarded a remarkable $1 million to a Texas grandmother over the weekend. This win left Rosa Guia from Lancaster in disbelief.
"I still can't believe it," she told Texas' Focus Daily News. "I can't believe it because of how much it is. I know it's real because I won $1 million tonight."
She's unsure of how she'll spend the money, but with four children and 12 grandchildren, she may take them on an adventure.
This isn't Guia's first big win at the casino; in 2017, she walked away with $41,000. "I love it here because I do win, and I can double my money," she said.
The grandmother frequently visits the gaming property, often with her family. It's a way for her to unwind after a long week. Guia has been working at an embroidery graphics company for the last 23 years.
This is the second $1 million prize drawing held at the tribal casino this summer. The next one is scheduled for later in the season, part of the casino's $6.6 million summer giveaway promotion.
Jeff Penz, senior director of gaming and hospitality at Choctaw Casino & Resort - Durant, said in a statement, "Today, we made a second rewards club member an instant millionaire as part of our 3 Months. 3 Millionaires giveaway. Nothing compares to creating these life-changing moments for our guests, and we're looking forward to doing it one more time."
Choctaw Casino & Resort - Durant is operated by the Choctaw Nation and features 7,400 slots, over 100 table games, and a poker room.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas' Fremont Hotel and Casino dished out a win of over $91K to a lucky slots player last Friday. The figure amounted to $91,404.25 from a mere 75-cent bet. The winner, simply known as "Andre," was hailed on the casino's Twitter page, "Congratulations, Andre! May your lucky streak never end!"
In New Jersey, BetMGM handed out a staggering $2.4 million jackpot to an anonymous player on June 6 through the Borgata Online Casino while playing the Luck O' The Jackpot game. In the first half of the year, BetMGM has doled out roughly $75 million in jackpots.
Michigan was the leading recipient, taking home a massive $27.4 million, followed by New Jersey with $23.2 million, and Pennsylvania with $18.8 million.
In 2021, BetMGM, an iGaming and online sportsbook operator, awarded over $104 million in jackpots. They hope to top that amount this year as a result of these recent wins.
