Gov. Ron DeSantis and Ambassador Nikki Haley considered Republican debate winners
Republicans hold their third presidential debate Wednesday night. Political bets on who will receive the party's nomination point to former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the night's winners.
The highlight of the two hours featured two confrontational exchanges between Haley, the former South Carolina governor, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who founded the healthcare-focused technology company Roivant.
Ramaswamy called Haley "Cheney in three-inch heels," a criticism of her foreign policy views, which are in line with those of former Vice President Dick Cheney. Tensions further escalated when Ramaswamy suggested that Hailey was a hypocrite for supporting the TikTok ban while her 25-year-old daughter was using the social media app, which was seen as a potential espionage mechanism for China.

Much of the evening centered around foreign policy, which is Haley's responsibility. Coupled with the backlash over the abortion issue, many observers considered Hailey to be one of the night's best performers.
Political bettors on the PredictIt exchange snapped up some Haley shares on the market: "Who will win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination?" Haley shares rose 2 cents to 15 cents after the debate.
DeSantis, who appeared more confident in the smaller third national debate in his home state, also had a good night.Governors shares rose 1p to 11 cents on the same market.
