One resident hurt, nearby community vacated due to incident - Göttingen has an alert for acid.
In Göttingen, emergency services were called upon after hazardous nitric acid leaked on a company premises, sparking concern.
A significant response included 80 firefighters, who arrived to contain the leak within the production area by containing it. Working with protective equipment, firefighters assessed the situation while combating the potentially harmful vapors through water sprays.
Single casualty, seven others monitored, 45 allotment gardeners evacuated
One worker sustained injuries, with seven others being sent to the hospital out of precautionary measures as they experienced respiratory discomfort, among others.
To ensure safety, allotment gardeners from the nearby colony were initially informed via loudspeaker alerts and were ultimately evacuated by police for security reasons.
The cause of the acid leak is currently being examined by the fire department and both the police and industrial inspection
