Potential title for Flensburg now? - Golla praises Hamburg

Flensburg had set their sights on three titles this season. In the semi-finals, they face off against Dinamo Bucharest, a team with a long history of success and players who have previously played for FC Barcelona, coached by Xavier Pascual himself. This is a daunting task, but one that SG Flensburg is hoping to overcome.

Over 10,000 spectators are expected to attend the EHF Finals premiere in Hamburg. Tickets are still available on eurohandball.com/ehf-finals for those looking to book last-minute tickets.

SG captain and center Johannes Golla is excited for the EHF Finals. "I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm hoping that we'll have a better experience at the EHF Finals than in the two previous semi-finals," he says, which took place in Cologne.

Hamburg and its arena hold special memories for Golla. "I think the arena is great. It's so harmonious, even when it's empty. It's a large arena, but it still feels familiar. The arena is connected to good memories. It's one of the nicest halls to play in. We're also lucky enough to always have a lot of fans with us," he shares.

The empty seats in Hamburg's arena may soon be filled by HSV Hamburg, who are currently awaiting a decision from the court of arbitration on whether they will be awarded a license for the coming season. However, this uncertain future weighs heavily on the players.

Golla sympathizes with his Hamburg colleagues, "It's an unfortunate situation. I wouldn't want to switch places. I don't want to be sitting in the city with my family at the end of the season, not knowing if there will still be handball next month, if I can still work, if I can find a new club."

Golla expresses his concerns for the potential loss of handball in such a significant location. "It would be a real shame if Germany lost such a place, such a city that has so much to offer, not just because of the handball club, but also as a fan experience."
