German poker pro Daniel Perkusic wins WSOP bracelet and over $2.1 million

German poker pro Daniel Perkusic wins $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event at World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. Perkusic took home a first-place prize of $2,100,325 (€1,940,322.24) and a WSOP bracelet.

Daniel Perkusic becomes first player from DACH region to win a live bracelet at WSOP 2024

Daniel Perkusic became the first player from the DACH region to win a live bracelet at the WSOP 2024. Previously, Ilija Savevski from Austria had won an online bracelet in NL Hold'em PKO. Perkusic emerged victorious in the $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event, outlasting a field of 131 players and securing a prize of $2,100,325 (€1,940,322.24). With this win, Perkusic also climbed to 23rd place on the PGT rankings.

Perkusic was playing in a live WSOP event for the first time. He missed the first day of the $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event due to illness but bought in on the second day with fewer chips than his opponents.

Perkusic made it to the final table, where he faced Danny Tang (Hong Kong), Jim Collopy (USA), Ronald Keijzer (Netherlands), and Santhosh Suvarna (India). Tang initially took the lead, but Perkusic caught up with Ac-Qc-8c-8s, eliminating Suvarna with Ac-Ah-6c-8s on a flop of Jh-8s-5h and narrowing the gap to Tang.

Tang then called Keijzer's all-in with Qc-10c-7h-8h on a board of 2c-10h-Qs-Qh-Jc, eliminating Keijzer. Perkusic then won the rest of Collopy's chips with Ac-As-10c-3c on a board of Jc-6s-6c-Qs-4h, taking the lead into the heads-up against Tang.

Tang briefly reclaimed the lead, but Perkusic caught up and pulled ahead. The final hand saw Perkusic call Tang's all-in with As-Ks-9c-2c on a flop of Kc-9c-6c, making a higher full house and winning the tournament and his first WSOP bracelet. The other players also took home the following prizes:

  • 1st place: Daniel Perkusic, $2,100,325 (€1,940,322.24)
  • 2nd place: Danny Tang, $1,400,217 (€1,293,548.47)
  • 3rd place: Jim Collopy, $973,882 (€899,691.67)
  • 4th place: Ronald Keijzer, $692,232 (€639,497.77)
  • 5th place: Santhosh Suvarna, $503,085 (€464,759.98)
