The Last Four in Hamburg - German clubs hope to win the European League championship.

A handball festival is about to take place!

The competitors: THREE teams from Germany and one team from Romania taking part in the event.

The fixtures: SG Flensburg-Handewitt will play against Dinamo Bucharest on Saturday at 3 p.m. This will be followed at 6 p.m. by the first of two clashes between German teams, with Rhein-Neckar Löwen fighting against Füchse Berlin.

Remarks about the tournament:

Kevin Möller, a player from Flensburg, expressed his thoughts on the encounter against Bucharest in the Dyn show "Auszeit" with presenter Anett Sattler: "We consider ourselves the favourites. I always think of us and our team as favourites, even at the beginning of each season in the league. But we need to prove ourselves if we make it that far. It all depends on us. A top performance will definitely give us a good chance of winning."

For the Berliners, they're aiming to defeat the Lions! They won both Bundesliga games this season - one at home with a score of 38:32 in fall 2023 and the other away with a score of 36:28 at the conclusion of March.

However, Berlin's top player, Mathias Gidsel (25), realizes: "I expect a really grueling match, and it can't be compared to a Bundesliga match. The rhythm and atmosphere are different when we play in the Final Four. A semi-final is always tough."

Löwen's adversary Patrick Groetzki (34), who claims to feel ready for the semi-final, admits: "We're definitely the underdogs in this weekend's event, based on our performance throughout the year. It's also an opportunity. If a tournament like this is successful, then it should reveal any blunders or inadequacies that occurred all year, since they've been repeated."

Intense competition in Hamburg! Two high-caliber semi-finals and the championship will be on Sunday: the European League final begins at 6 p.m., with the match for third place starting at 3 p.m.
