Gauselmann focuses on improving quality and expanding sports betting options.
The German gaming corporation Gauselmann Group has declared the launch of an initiative promoting quality within the gaming machine sector. A meeting transpired at the end of January for this purpose. Merkur Sportwetten, a sub-branch of the company, has attained a 50% share in gambling provider BetCenter. The specifics of the agreement are currently unknown. Already, the two companies have worked alongside each other with BetCenter having used Merkur Cashpoint products in their Belgian betting shops over the past year and a half. This partnership has resulted in a 30% increase in revenue. The merger with Merkur Sportwetten will enable BetCenter to execute their growth and acquisition strategies more swiftly.
Seydi Tekin, BetCenter's CEO, has shared her company's enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: "This joint venture not only strengthens us with the experience of one of Europe's leading sports betting experts, but also ensures our plans for growth and acquisitions."
This transaction aligns with Gauselmann's international business strategy. Representatives of Merkur Sportwetten are expected to join the BetCenter board.
As Gauselmann Growth bets on expanding its business, the company is also battling the deteriorating precariousness of the slot machine industry in Germany. Minimum distance regulations threaten the majority of these establishments with closure, while upper loss limits make machines less profitable. The company is striving to proactively combat the surge in regulatory pressure by emphasizing quality. Industry members convened on January 26 in Frankfurt to discuss shared concerns before establishing the "Quality Initiative System Gaming Halls." The goal wasn't originally to unite smaller companies, but rather to unify operators.
Industry leader Paul Gauselmann argues that the arcade industry is becoming fragmented into large and small companies. Rather than tackling issues affecting the entire industry, operators are distracted by their size differences. Regardless of whether their establishment has a single machine or several licences, achieving high quality standards is crucial. The slot machine king believes that smaller arcades are not given an equal voice in the political discussions on the trajectory of gaming in Germany.
The Quality Initiative System Gaming Halls' focus is on informing clients about the risks of gambling, ensuring customer safety with qualified personnel, and providing cross-state self-restriction systems. Additionally, a nationwide TÜV certification will be implemented to confirm these quality measures. Despite the advantages enjoyed by larger establishments, small establishments can similarly enhance their standards with sufficient investment.
However, considering the potential financial costs of implementing these measures, smaller arcades may struggle to compete with their larger counterparts. In reality, the divide between large and small amusement arcades may widen in the future. While Merkur slots online have already been set to a high standard, it's worth noting that the "effort" Gauselmann is stressing pertains to expenditures.
