Galaxy announces Macau Casino boutique hotel project

Galaxy Entertainment Group last week officially opened Phase 3 of Galaxy Macau, the company’s eponymous integrated resort on the Cotai Strip.

On December 13, Hong Kong’s Galaxy Entertainment held a grand opening ceremony for the destination’s newest facility in Phase 3. Highlights of the expansion are the 430,000-square-meter Galaxy International Convention Center and the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena.

Two new hotels, Andaz Macau and Galaxy Raffles Macau, add 1,100 rooms and suites.

PhD. Lui Che-woo, the billionaire who founded Galaxy in 2005 and retains majority control of the listed company, hinted at the third press conference that more projects related to the expansion phase have not yet been announced.

Lui told Inside Asian Gaming that Galaxy Macau’s third phase of expansion plans will include the opening of a boutique hotel. Mr Lui said he wanted to partner with another luxury hotel brand that enjoys global recognition.

"This is a specialty hotel with no more than 100 rooms." Lu revealed."The positioning hopes to target high-end customers, and the hotel brand is world-renowned."

Ray said more details will be released.

If Galaxy Entertainment follows Lewis's advice, the boutique hotel will become Galaxy Macau's tenth hotel concept. In addition to Andaz and Raffles, the property's current hotel brands include StarWorld, The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Banyan Tree. Lui expects the tenth hotel to be completed in 2024.

"We will present this new project to the public in due course," Lui concluded.

Galaxy Macau opened on the Cotai Strip in 2011 and has approximately 5.9 million square meters of indoor space. In addition to its nine hotels, Galaxy Macau has nearly 400,000 square meters of gaming space with 650 gaming tables and 1,500 slot machines.

The resort offers 120 dining options, from Michelin-starred restaurants to takeaway restaurants. The complex’s Promenade Shops feature more than 1 million square feet of retail space.

In addition to Galaxy Macau, Galaxy Entertainment also owns and operates StarWorld Hotel and Waldo Casino Hotel in the heart of the Macau Peninsula. Galaxy also owns and operates Broadway Macau, a hotel and a popular dining and entertainment district on the Cotai Strip near Galaxy Macau.

Focus of the fourth phase

Last year, Galaxy Entertainment agreed to invest $3.4 billion in non-gaming investments into its Macau resorts in exchange for a new 10-year gaming license. Galaxy remains Macau's second-largest gaming market share, behind only the Sands.

Galaxy Entertainment issued a statement saying that Phase 4 of Galaxy Macau will become a new integrated resort with multiple high-end hotel brands, rich dining options, shopping and other non-gaming facilities, such as a water resort and a high-tech amusement park. Includes park. The destination will include a 4,000-seat international music and performing arts center "to revitalize the local arts and cultural scene".

Galaxy Entertainment Group adheres to its core values and supports the policies of the Macau SAR government. With the solidarity and support of team members and all sectors of society, it will continue to promote Macau’s positioning as a ‘world center of tourism and leisure,’” the company’s statement read.

Galaxy added that the company remains committed to the "one country, two systems" political agreement between China and Macau.
