In the secondary level I debate, the topic asked of the participants was: "Should police officers in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern be armed with Tasers?" Mathilda Kirschnick from the Albert Einstein Gymnasium in Neubrandenburg secured the runner-up spot in this age group, with Juno Holbe from the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Gymnasium in Wismar earning third place.

Secondary level II was challenged with the debate question "Should threats against public officials and elected representatives be subject to harsher penalties?" Lotta Knüppel from Richard-Wossidlo-Gymnasium in Waren nabbed second place in this age group, with Pia Marlene Flemming from Gerhart-Hauptmann-Gymnasium in Wismar claiming third.

"Jugend debattiert" is an endeavor supervised by the Federal President and is under his cautious eye. Its purpose is to engender pupils from all sorts of schools, starting in fifth grade, to augment their linguistic, political, and personal education. The state final conventionally takes place in the plenary hall of the state parliament. The judges evaluate contestants based on proficiency, eloquence, interpersonal skills, and persuasiveness.
