French leader Macron visits Germany for official trip.
In the evening, Steinmeier will host a formal dinner for Macron at Bellevue Palace. This event will also be attended by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). This is the first state visit by a French president to Germany in 24 years and only the sixth one in history.
On Monday, Macron is scheduled to deliver a speech to Europe's youth in Dresden. Right before the European elections, Macron and Steinmeier hope to motivate young people to cast their vote. Reports show that far-right parties are predicted to do well in both nations.
Macron will continue his journey to Münster on Tuesday, where he will be granted the Peace of Westphalia Prize. Following this, the state visit will continue with a Franco-German ministerial meeting at Schloss Meseberg near Berlin. Scholz and a significant number of members from the French government team from Paris will take part in this event.
