For the sixth time, the Euro finals are upon us. - Foxes defeat Knorr's lions

The Berlin-based team, Berlin Füchse, had a convincing win against Rhein-Neckar Lions in the semifinals of the Handball Championship held in Hamburg, securing their title from the previous year. With a score of 33:24 (14:9), they attracted a crowd of 9,400 spectators. The captain of the Berliners, Paul Drux, made a tremendous contribution to the win, leading his team to victory. Drux stated that their performance started improving from the 15th minute, and the Lions never got the chance to catch up.

Berlin Füchse has a long history of competing in the European stage, and they have participated in the Final4 multiple times. In 2015, 2018, and 2023, they managed to win the EHF Cup. As they aim to defend their title, coach Jaron Siewert is leaving no stone unturned for their preparation. In the current championship match, they are traveling with three goalkeepers. In the squad playing against the Lions, U21 world champion Lasse Ludwig from the second division champions VfL Potsdam was also present.

Berlin businessman Bob Hanning said, "We're making sure we're evenly matched since the Lions are also traveling with three goalkeepers." Goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev turned in a commendable performance, making 11 saves.

The game saw Juri Knorr from the Lions face off against Berlin, and Knorr was leading his team, having scored 7 goals (14 attempts). Despite a good initial start (4:2/8), the Lions quickly lost their lead. When the score was 9:7 (16) for the Füchse, the Lions' coach Sebastian Hinze took a timeout. However, this didn't seem to help as the Berliners further extended their lead by scoring after a footwork display by Kreisläufer Mijajlo Marsenic, who played with a finger fracture. The gap eventually widened, leaving the Lions unable to counter.

In the second half, the battle remained mostly the same. Knorr faced a formidable Füchse attack led by Gidsel (7 goals), Anderson (7 goals), and Lindberg (6 goals). Marsenic, who joined as a midfielder, scored, increasing the Füchse's lead. At the 39th minute, Nils Lichtlein came into the middle and also scored, leaving the Lions with a significant disadvantage.

Juri Knorr was unhappy with the outcome: "Berlin's quality is incredibly high, and we couldn't keep up."

The Berlin Füchse are preparing to participate in the Euro final - their sixth time - and they're ready to take on their Danish counterparts, Flensburg, in the final. Star player and world handballer Mathias Gidsel celebrates the opportunity:"We've got a good idea of what we're dealing with now, and we can show it again on Sunday. I'm looking forward to playing with my many Danish friends on the Flensburg team."
