Fox News removes Hunter Biden 'mock trial' series from platform following legal warning.
Fox News removes program featuring Hunter Biden's sexually explicit images following legal threat
Fox News has swiftly pulled down a program that featured Hunter Biden's sexually explicit images, with its spokesperson claiming to be reviewing the concerns raised about the controversial content. The show, which focused on the President Joe Biden's son's overseas financial dealings, was available on the Fox Nation digital streaming network and was heavily promoted on the cable television channel Fox News.
Since Tuesday morning, the Fox Nation site had the link for the six-episode series "The Trial of Hunter Biden" no longer working. Several episodes previously accessible were not available anymore. The dispute primarily surrounds the disclosure of sexually explicit images of Hunter Biden and were broadcast during the Fox Nation program. These explicit images formed part of the program that focused on his overseas financial dealings and led to his federal tax indictment and the unsuccessful House Republicans' impeachment inquiry against his father.
Hunter Biden, who pleaded not guilty to the federal charges, is scheduled for a trial in California in late June.
His legal team alleges that Fox's actions amount to defamation and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images potentially in violation of "revenge porn" laws. In response, Fox denied any wrongdoing, affirming that its coverage was factual and in line with the First Amendment.
