A property can be purchased for 1.9 million euros. - For sale: Germany's tiniest castle

A postman named Albert Henneberg, who had inherited a vast fortune, decided to turn his wife's fairytale dream into reality in 1887 by constructing a miniature knight's castle in Thuringia (now a ruin). This castle was built on a 15-meter-high hill, complete with fortified towers, battlements, and a knight's hall, all scaled down to 1:4 of the original structure.

The tower stands at a height of 12 meters, with a total area of 46 square meters that is distributed over two rooms and a castle chamber. However, the property was not open for public use. In fact, it was forbidden by the authorities. Despite this, the castle was listed as a historical monument.

The last true owner of the Henneberg family passed away in 1986. More recently, the castle was used for commercial purposes under the name "Alsterschlösschen" by its owners Helge (55) and Miriam Hager (54) for cultural and family events, such as weddings. The couple purchased the property in 2013, after it had been neglected for several years.

The Hagers invested approximately half a million euros in restoring the castle to its former glory. Now, they plan to relocate to Rostock.

Besides the grandiose castle structure, the expansive garden designed by Henneberg himself is also noteworthy. It encompasses more than 3,000 square meters of exotic trees and shrubs from Europe, the United States, China, and Japan.
