International Ice Hockey Tournament - Focus of the NHL on a German ice hockey player
Former NHL player Osborne, famous for his 911 games in the league, is excited about the growth of German ice hockey. He remarked, "Germany has made significant strides in ice hockey in recent times."
During Germany's match against France, he closely observed our NHL players, Nico Sturm (San José), Philipp Grubauer (Seattle), Lukas Reichel (Chicago), JJ Peterka (Buffalo), and Maksy Szuber (Arizona).
However, one player from the German team caught Osborne's attention - forward Wojciech Stachowiak (ERC Ingolstadt, 24 years old). "He's an impressive player, no doubt about it," Osborne enthusiastically commented, jotting down notes about the talented German striker. His interest was also piqued by the increasing attention German players were garnering from NHL observers, with Kai Wissmann (Berlin, 27 years old) signing with the Boston Bruins straight from the World Championship in Finland last year.
Osborne exclaimed, "In the past, Uwe Krupp was the only German in the NHL. Now, Germany has a plethora of top-notch players competing in North America."
