Florida hosts two new Hard Rock establishments.

American entertainment juggernaut Hard Rock International is gearing up to debut two lavish mega-resorts in Florida this October. First, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, the largest casino in Florida, will unveil its doors. Next, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will debut its massive guitar-shaped building complex. A whopping 2.2 billion dollars were sunk into the developments. Here's what you need to know.

World's First Guitar-Shaped Hotel-Casino

In October, two significant expansion projects of the Hard Rock brand will unveil in Florida, USA. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, boasting Florida's biggest casino, is set to welcome guests in the first week of October. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, featuring the world's first-ever guitar-shaped hotel-casino complex, will launch later in the month.

The Hard Rock Group revealed that approximately 1.9 billion euros were invested in both undertakings. Both establishments belong to the indigenous gaming company Seminole Tribe of Florida, which also owns the Hard Rock International franchise.

Of the total investment, a staggering 1.3 billion euros went into building the iconic guitar complex alone. Jim Allen, Hard Rock Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO, views the extension to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood as a testament to the Hard Rock International brand: "The Guitar Building will be a new Florida landmark," Allen anticipates.

1,300 Rooms and an Artificial Lake

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is well-known as one of the largest flagship casinos in the Hard Rock Group. Insider figures show that the size of the enhancements are indeed impressive: The emblematic guitar tower resembles two guitars back to back, with six illuminated guitar strings stretching along each side. The total count of rooms is 638 rooms and suites in the guitar structure, in addition to a seven-story tower featuring another 168 rooms. These include bathing suites with private pool access.

A new entrance plaza is also currently under construction. Visitors can expect to be greeted by "The Oculus," an artistic installation spanning floor-to-ceiling. It will emphasize the elements of fire and water through both symmetrical choreography and music.

The swimming area is set to be just as captivating, encompassing roughly five hectares of land. The new pool area boasts overwater cabanas and private showers with changing rooms. A sprawling artificial lake reaching a length of three soccer fields completes the water sports wonderland, with activities such as pedal boating, canoeing, and jet-skiing.

To fully cater to the needs of guests, there will be 19 dining establishments and 20 bars available. A health center with 40+ treatment rooms and facilities for meetings and conventions across 14,000 square meters is also part of the hotel. Furthermore, a shopping mall covering 2,400 square meters is in the works.

An announced 125 million dollars are being poured into a brand-new event center, which will be known as "Hard Rock Live." The venue will house a 7,000-seat theater.

Elvis Presley's Gold-Plated Piano in Tampa's Foyer

The reopening of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa marks the return of one of the world's largest casinos. The renovated complex set Hard Rock International back 631 million euros. Enhancements include a 14-story hotel with 562 rooms, three pools, and a massive casino.

A show-stopping highlight within the casino hotel is Elvis Presley's gold-plated Kimball piano placed in the foyer. Hard Rock procured the iconic instrument, linked to "The King of Rock 'n' Roll," in 2015 as part of their impressive collection of 80,000 items belonging to famous musicians. The piano, bought by Elvis in 1955 as a present for his mother, was later encased in 24-carat gold and proudly displayed in his home upon his mother's death.

Presently, the Hard Rock International group operates in 74 countries worldwide, featuring 188 cafés, 240 rock stores, 29 hotels, and 11 casinos. Plans for opening a casino resort in Japan are currently in the works, as the nation undergoes legalization. Hard Rock is among the major contenders, alongside MGM, Caesars, and Las Vegas Sands, in the race for a license.

Fun fact, the popularity of Hard Rock started with a guitar belonging to Eric Clapton. Now, Hard Rock proudly claims to have the most extensive collection of musical artifacts. You can find these showcased at different places worldwide.
