Flight to Las Vegas Forced to Land Unexpectedly Due to In-Cabin Brawl
A Frontier Airlines plane traveling from Philadelphia to Las Vegas made an unexpected stop in Denver on Tuesday evening due to an argument between two female passengers.
The women, who were traveling together, got into a heated dispute and loudly used profanity towards each other, leaving other passengers shocked. At some point, one of the women allegedly hit a male passenger on or near his head.
Both women's identities remain unknown.
A bystander reported that a flight attendant attempted to stop the altercation on multiple occasions, but ultimately separated them and relocated one to a different seat. Despite the separation, the women continued to shout expletives at each other, the witness said.
The following cellphone video was uploaded by the news outlet:
"Their behavior was quite disruptive, so other passengers asked them to be quiet as their actions were escalating," the witness explained.
"Just sort yourself out so we can get back home," a passenger can be heard saying in the video.
Another individual spoke up, telling the women to "show some class."
The women received a warm reception upon stepping off the plane at Denver International Airport, where they were greeted by police officers at the gate.
"You'll be going to jail...why are you trying to impress anyone?" a passenger said.
For flying a disturbance-causing offense is a federal crime that could result in legal charges, although it was unclear if either of these women would face any consequences.
Flight 2143 took off from Philadelphia at 10:30 p.m. E.T. and was scheduled to touch down in Las Vegas at 10:30 p.m. P.T. Frontier Airlines should be commended for only delaying the flight by an hour.
