Before the doping trial commenced, - First loss experienced by HSV expert Vuskovic.
On May 14/15, the International Court of Sports Arbitration (ICSA) based in Lausanne, Switzerland will hear the doping case of HSV pro player Mario Vuskovic (22, EPO).
Since both Vuskovic, the German National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have appealed the DFB's ruling, three different trials have been set up.
The ICSA hearing is expected to last two days. However, contrary to Vuskovic's side's request, the hearing will not be open to the public.
The public is not allowed in!
While Vuskovic and his legal team pushed for maximum transparency, the ICSA has explained that the hearing is "not available to the media/public."
It is unclear when the recorded hearing will be made available to the public, but this is a setback for Vuskovic and his team, who were hoping for full transparency in the proceedings.
In March 2023, the sports judges in Frankfurt banned Vuskovic from playing for two years, with his ban set to end on November 14, 2024. However, Vuskovic and his lawyers continue to fight for his acquittal, while NADA and WADA are seeking a four-year ban. For more HSV news, visit here.
