HSV's final match of the club season. - Fiél: "We're not visiting that place for amusement."
During the season's last game in Hamburg on Sunday (3:30 pm), there's no real stakes for either our club or HSV. However, our coach Cristian Fiél (44) won't treat it like a casual friendly match. He emphasized, "After all the discussions we've had in the last few weeks, I want us to end this season positively and approach the game with focus and determination. We're not going there to have fun, we're going there to win."
At the end of the interview, Fiél didn't forget to send a message to the fans. Gratefully, he said, "I'd like to thank you all. To those who travel away, those who've stood by us throughout the year, the support has been outstanding and it wasn't easy."
This is one of the reasons why Fiél is so adamant about giving the fans a victory after the challenging times in the relegation battle.
Player Absence
Without the Japanese players, Daichi Hayashi (26) and Kanji Okunuki (24), as well as Christopher Schindler (34) and Florian Hübner (33), FCN will embark on their last journey of the season tomorrow. The loss of Hübner, who has a neck contusion from the Düsseldorf game (1:3), is particularly disappointing for Coach Fiél. He shared his disappointment, "I'm really sorry about that."
Departures
Within the club, FCN's regional league team is likely to experience the annual major changes this summer. It has been confirmed that six players will be leaving. In this group are Niklas Jahn (23) and Nikola Komlejnovic (22), grandson of Stepanovic.
Fan Support
Thousands of club supporters will fill the guest block in Hamburg for the season finale. An estimated 3500 club fans will be there to cheer on the team against HSV.
