Female from Las Vegas Apprehended for Plotting to Swindle Mandalay Bay Casino Croupier
Las Vegas authorities apprehended a woman from the city who was desired by the Nevada Gaming Control. Identified as Yuk Wong, age 42, authorities allege that she collaborated with a Mandalay Bay dealer back in 2023 during a game of "I Luv Suits Poker". This was shared by KLAS-TV/Las Vegas after they released the news.
In may, police detained Wong for driving with an outdated registration. Upon checking her name, they found out that a warrant had been issued by Gaming Control last year against her.
Wong now faces five counts of felony cheating at a game of chance and one count of attempting or plotting to cheat in such a game.
The Mandalay Bay security team got in touch with the Gaming Control when they identified cheating through their surveillance footage. The guards held Wong and the dealer until Gaming Control agents arrived.
In response to the investigation, Wong disclosed that she had previously known the dealer and enjoys playing at games he oversees because she feels he aids her in understanding the game and winning.
"I Luv Suits Poker" is a game that remunerates players for receiving more matched cards than the dealer. As per Gaming Control, the dealer misguidedly paid Wong for losing hands on 17 occasions that were documented by them. Wong fraudulently covered her non-pair cards amid her hand.
The court documents detail that Wong and the dealer allegedly identified themselves as being in a relationship on Facebook. However, the dealer's name was removed, and their legal status was not specified - it's likely that the individual is no longer allowed to work as a dealer in Nevada.
The paperwork doesn't disclose the exact amount Wong is charged with embezzling from Mandalay Bay. It does, however, mention that she was given "hundreds of dollars" for a single losing hand.
Judge Harmony Letizia released Wong on personal recognizance. Her next appearance in Clark County Justice Court is set for June 18.
