Striking alert issued by law enforcement authorities. - Father and young daughter traveling by hitchhiking on the lam
A man vanished along with his two-year-old daughter following an altercation. The last known sighting of them happened about 25 km apart, at which point they presumably took to the road as hitchhikers. Authorities are frantically searching for the father and child now.
As per investigators, there's a risk their situation might drive the desperate father to harm himself or the child.
The police have branded this an "issues within the family"
Since Wednesday, law enforcement has been scouring Germany to find Kiefer S. (29), with his photo went public. The day prior, a quarrel had taken place with the child's mother in Kroppenstedt near Halberstadt (Börde Region). Following this, the man stormed off with the girl.
Officials remain tight-lipped regarding Kiefer's ties to the area. They simply describe it as a "family incident." Tuesday was when the police filed a missing person report.
It's unclear whether Kiefer is a resident of Saxony-Anhalt or was just visiting. The sole clue they have is that he barely speaks German. Notably, he's been observed thumbing rides already.
The events turn murky beyond Halberstadt
He was last seen with the child in Halberstadt and near Klein Quenstedt, precisely 25 km from Kroppenstedt. "The man presently lacks a vehicle, and has been travelling as a hitchhiker," Crime Chief Commissioner Nadine Sünnemann revealed.
Reports disclose concerns for their well-being since the domestic situation might led to dangerous circumstances. "There's a possibility he might cause harm to himself and the child," the police spokeswoman stated.
The child has dark, wavy hair and had been dressed in a light T-shirt and a short jeans skirt when last seen. The 29-year-old stands at around 1.80 meters tall, has a slender build, and sports blond, curly hair. He also sported a light T-shirt and a pair of light shorts.
This warning is extended to the public: "Do not pick them up as hitchhikers. Instead, contact the police immediately!"
If you encounter the missing persons, please employ the emergency number 110 or dial Harz Police, whose number is 03941 674 293.
