Two people were reported to the French police by a vigilant witness, according to the Magdeburg Police Department's spokesperson on Friday evening. The man was promptly arrested, while the girl seemed to be holding up okay. Police continue to probe the situation.

Following a spat, the father had fled with the little one. His last known whereabouts were around 25 kilometers from the disappearance site, presumably as a hitchhiker. With the involvement of multiple law enforcement agencies, they combed the area intensively for the dad and daughter.
A breakthrough was achieved on Friday evening. Based on the witness's testimonies, the man was detained in Paris!
"Familiar circumstance" characterization
Since Wednesday, the man was searched for throughout the country using his photo. Prior to that, there was an altercation with the girl's mother in Kroppenstedt (Börde district), resulting in the man leaving town with his daughter in tow.
