Fatal Stabbing at Atlantic City Casino Results in Plea by Ex-MMA Competitor
A prior mixed martial arts (MMA) combatant owned up to a deadly 2022 stabbing at Atlantic City's Ocean Casino Resort on Thursday.
35-year-old Andrew Osborne, from Philadelphia, acknowledged guilt for a charge of first-degree aggravated manslaughter.
At his sentencing on August 22, he may be sentenced to 25 years in prison, as per the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Neck, Head Injuries
The victim was Brian Wilkinson, 47, from Egg Harbor Township, NJ. He sustained neck and head wounds during an altercation in a guest room at the hotel on the Boardwalk.
After the September 23, 2022, assault, Osborne switched into the victim's shoes and pants. Then, roughly thirty minutes later, Osborne and his spouse got into a silver Hyundai Accent hatchback and returned to Philadelphia.
An autopsy confirmed the cause and manner of Wilkinson's demise.
Wilkinson's naked body was found on the hotel room floor some hours later, while a T-shirt and underwear were found nearby, according to BreakingAC.com.
Osborne was apprehended three days after the crime for first-degree murder and third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He was transferred to New Jersey to face charges for the slaying.
In December 2022, he was indicted and has been detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
MMA Fighter Background

His record stood at 7-11-1 over a period of several years, as stated by Tapology, an MMA enthusiast site.
Wilkinson had been a bookkeeper and had previously worked for a construction company, as per NJ.com.
Brian's passing was highly tragic and unexpected, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him," stated an obituary posted by the Press of Atlantic City.
One acquaintance, Heather L., wrote on the obituary page, "My condolences to Brian's family and friends. I went to school with Brian and he was a genuinely good person. He will be missed by many."
