German Basketball League - Experience the free playoffs between Alba and Bonn.
The playoffs have begun!
Alba Ball Handler Martin Hermannsson (29): "It was the ideal kickoff. We didn't want to give them any glimmer of hope and stayed focused till the very end."
After their clear victory on Friday night, the Berliners laid the groundwork for reaching the semi-finals, requiring two more wins to accomplish this feat. The performance of Alba guard Matt Thomas (29), who scored 18 points and made five out of seven threes as the game's leading scorer, was remarkable.
Team captain and world champion Johannes Thiemann (30) remarked: "If we can stay focused even more, we have a good chance of winning the game on Sunday." But: "I don't think they'll be this generous again."
In total, caution is the mood in the capital prior to the second match. Sporting Director Himar Ojeda (51): "They'll play aggressively. And I anticipate them scoring better once more and making their threes."
In contrast, there was sheer disappointment in the Bonn camp after the final whistle. Head Coach Roel Moors (45) stated: "We got off to a good start in offense, but weren't able to create any stops in defense. Berlin is seasoned, they play at a very high level almost every week. That's not enough against a team like this."
