Arts, traditions, and expressions that influence our ways of life and values. - Exhibition marking anniversary commences at Wolfsburg's Kunstmuseum.
Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg marks its 30th anniversary with a special exhibition called "Worlds in Motion." This event kicked off last Saturday and will run until August 4th. It showcases top works from the museum's superb collection, including fresh donations.
The show also showcases fifteen historical pieces from Braunschweig's Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum, paired with contemporary paintings, sculptures, and installations by renowned international artists.
In an interview, curator Holger Broeker stated that the timelessness of many of these themes becomes evident. The exhibition explores themes like the body, sexuality, and identity, as well as social values like freedom and equality. To commemorate the museum's anniversary, a weekend-long festival is planned with live music, discussion panels, presentations, and guided tours.
Ever since its inception in 1994, Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg has hosted over 150 solo and themed exhibitions. Artworks by Cindy Sherman and Andy Warhol have also graced its halls. The institution's own contemporary art collection boasts over 1000 pieces from more than 140 artists.
