To attend the historic event in London, Dortmund supporters need a valid passport. Unfortunately, many fans are yet to apply for one.
The city of Dortmund has seen a significant uptick in applications for both temporary passports (€26, issued immediately) and passports with an express procedure (€102, takes several working days) in the last two weeks. Thankfully, the necessary papers haven't yet reached crisis levels.
To avoid a potential state of emergency at the offices, Dortmund is offering a special campaign for Borussia Dortmund fans on Wednesday, May 22. Between 1pm and 3.30pm, fans can make an appointment to obtain a temporary passport. To be eligible, they must have a confirmation for a stadium ticket or booking documents for flights, hotels, train, or ferry.
Appointments can be booked online (dortmund.de/termine-reservieren), and a recent passport photo is required.
The city anticipates issuing up to 200 temporary passports to Dortmund fans in a hurry. There is still room for more applications.
