Evening get-togethers in Berlin generally go smoothly as 16 Amazon delivery vans suffer from fires.
Berlin authorities have reported isolated instances of police being targeted, though no one was injured by midnight. Furthermore, an LGBTQ-feminist rally was held in the Friedrichshain district. Police told AFP that 16 Amazon delivery trucks were torched in a parking lot in Berlin-Wittenau, prompting questions about any potential connection to May Day.
Plans for Wednesday afternoon feature a large-scale march in Berlin's Kreuzberg and Neukölln neighborhoods as part of the yearly "Revolutionary May Day" celebration. With 5,000 people registered, authorities are preparing for an even bigger turnout.
Anti-Israel and anti-Semitic comments or visuals are strictly forbidden during the demonstration, according to the police. In Berlin alone, twenty different May Day events have been registered. Over 5,000 police officers are deployed, while other left-wing demonstrations will take place in Hamburg, Leipzig, and Frankfurt am Main.
