Parting present from the Foxes - Euro Cup Favors Repeated Winner Lindberg

Lindberg expressed to Bild, "Certainly, making it to the Final 4 was a major goal for me, and I hope we can defend our title and bring home another trophy from Hamburg."

Lindberg kicked off his career with HSV in 2007 at the age of 26, after transferring from the Danish league. During his near-decade with the team, the left-handed player not only helped the Hamburgers secure the league, cup, Supercup, and Champions League titles but also became one of the greatest players in Bundesliga history. After his move to the Foxes in 2016, he became a legend.

With the Berliners, Lindberg won the European Cup twice and the Super Globe, as well as being the top scorer in the Liqui Moly Handball Bundesliga three times (2010, 2013, and 2022). On May 20, 2023, during a 42:35 win against Minden, Lindberg scored twelve goals, surpassing the league's all-time scoring leader, Korean player Yoon Kyung-shin (2905 goals). Currently, Lindberg has 3099 goals to his name and still two league games left to increase his already mind-boggling total.

His sports director, Stefan Kretzschmar (51), said before the Final4 at Dyn, "On numerous occasions, we can't emphasize enough how important Hans Lindberg is for us, even though he no longer possesses his leaping ability. He doesn't need it for the seven-meters as he can accomplish everything with his eye. This man is a living legend."

The Foxes aspire to present this remarkable player with another trophy before he returns to Denmark with his family, having been appointed as a player and sports director for HØJ Elite.

Füchse Coach Jaron Siewert (30) shared, "As defending champions, we've invested heavily in the European League season. Additional motivation for us comes from our desire to send off players like Hans Lindberg and Marko Kopljar - two of our key contributors leaving the team - with a win."

Lindberg is still determined and eager to perform, even at this stage of his career. He shared, "I'm in great shape and ready to play at the Barclays Arena once again. This was my hope, and I couldn't be happier about it. My association with Hamburg is undeniable, filled with incredible memories, successes, friendships, and a wonderful city."

Lindberg continued, "I'm just keen on leaving everything out on the court in these last two games so we can celebrate another big win."

His family - wife Jeanette and sons Aron (8) and Carl (5) - will be present in Hamburg as always, wearing Lindberg jerseys. Lindberg mused, "This is something that just seems to happen. The Lindbergs will, of course, be in attendance wearing their dad's jersey."
