Fresh court hearing - Eugen Block persists in battling for his grandchildren's future.

The meeting was to discuss a hearing Eugen Block (83) was trying to arrange in order to see his grandchildren Klara (13) and Theodor (10), who are currently residing with their father in an unknown location in Denmark.

Eugen Block was opposing a decision made by the family court in February. On Wednesday, there was a verbal hearing where all parties presented their arguments once more.

Stephan Hensel showed up at the courthouse around 3:00 PM, patiently waiting in the lobby. Eugen Block and his daughter Christina arrived together. There was also a representative from the youth welfare office present.

The hearing lasted for approximately 90 minutes. However, no judgment has been made yet and will be done in the near future, according to court spokesperson Kai Wantzen.

The main issue at hand is determining the legal jurisdiction for the dispute - Germany or Denmark.

To look back, on August 29, 2021, at 4:44 PM, Stephan Hensel emailed his ex-wife Christina Block: "Considering the circumstances, I am keeping the children with me." The children were supposed to be visiting him in Denmark.

Since then, legal disputes have not only occurred in court but elsewhere as well.

The peak of the conflict: On New Year's Eve, it's alleged that eight men assaulted Hensel in Denmark, placed Klara and Theodor in a car, and transported them to Germany. Hensel pressed a panic button he was wearing around his neck. The men drove with the children towards the border, without any lights.

On January 2, Christina Block admitted: Yes, the children are with me. On January 5, a German court ordered: The children must return to Denmark.

The Hamburg prosecutor's office is currently investigating Eugen Block - along with his daughter Christina - for potential child abduction. Both deny any involvement.

In the end, Eugen Block said: "I have nothing to do with that, and I can't say anything about it." He added: "I, Eugen Block, have served my country my whole life. What do I receive from the state? It allows the children to be in Denmark."

The ex-couple Block/Hensel have a total of four children. Johanna (17) voluntarily lives with her father in Denmark, Greta (15) lives with her mother in Hamburg.
