"Insane!" - Escapee zebras cause mayhem in tiny community; one zebra remains elusive.
Law enforcement officials in the US state of Washington have apprehended three runaway zebras. The location of the fourth zebra is uncertain, as relayed by police spokesperson Rick Johnson to the German Press Agency on Monday. Multiple American news platforms had previously discussed the bizarre escapees. As per these accounts, the creatures had bolted earlier on Sunday (local time) in close proximity to a freeway near Seattle. The proprietor, a private citizen, was en route with them toward the state of Montana to the east and paused to fasten the van.
Johnson shared the happenings on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. "This is a first for me and everyone involved," he posted there. "Crazy!!!" With the cooperation of regional residents, three of the creatures have presently been reclaimed. An online video shared on Facebook portrays one of the zebras seemingly roaming the yard of a residential building while a woman converses with it and tries to coax it in. "Now I can add 'professional zebra driver' to my resume," the video caption notes.
