Football: A Popular Sport Worldwide - Enthusiastic Guardiola considers potential Bayern Coach in Kompany
Vincent Kompany, who was a player under Pep Guardiola, is thought to be a potential choice for the coaching position at FC Bayern. Guardiola, currently coaching at Manchester City, shared his support for the 38-year-old Belgian, saying, "If that goes ahead, I'll be happy." He continued, expressing his high regard for Kompany, "I have such respect for his work, his personality, and his understanding of the game."
Reports from Sky TV suggest that Bayern are close to finalizing a deal with Kompany, offering him a contract until 2027. However, they'll also need to reach an agreement on a transfer fee with his current club, FC Burnley. Kompany's deal with Burnley expires in 2028.
Guardiola, a coach at both Bayern and Manchester City, spoke excitedly about the possibility of Bayern making the right choice. "I have so much love for this club for a number of reasons," said the Catalan.
