Engaging in poker games alongside American celebrities
A charity event allows you to play poker with famous US celebrities. Broaday Cares, a New York-based charity project, is auctioning off digital poker evenings with stars from film and television. The lucky winner can play poker with "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow or Golden Globe winner Rachel Bloom. The proceeds of the event will go towards helping organizations fight diseases like HIV/AIDS and Covid-19.
Virtual Poker
Due to the Corona pandemic, the poker evenings with the stars will be held online through Zoom rather than in person. This way, the risk of endangering anyone's health is reduced. The exciting atmosphere of the poker event will not be lost in this format.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is a non-profit organization in the United States that raises funds for AIDS research and grant-making. Since 1988, it has raised over 300 million dollars through the support of the American theater and film industry. The money will be used to provide life-saving medications, food, healthcare, and emergency aid to the needy in all 50 states.
Poker enthusiasts or fans of film and television can find various poker experiences on charitybuzz.com. The entire process is based on an auction, ensuring the highest bidder a spot at a table with the stars. On the auction page, there are a total of three separate tables, each with a different lineup of celebrities.
The poker sessions are planned for June 18, 26, and 27. Bidders who win will play poker with the stars for around two hours in a private virtual meeting. The organization and setup for the online event are handled by ClubWPT, part of the World Poker Tour. Real money will not be played at the virtual tables, so the focus is on fun and charity.
Lisa Kudrow's Table
All three tables feature a lineup of high-profile US celebrities, and bidders need to select their preferred constellation. The highest bidder for a given table will be eligible to participate.
A popular constellation seems to be the one with Lisa Kudrow, best known for her role as Phoebe in "Friends." She is set to appear in the "Friends Reunion" soon. Those who like poker or "Friends" can't miss a two-hour poker session with Lisa Kudrow. The table includes fellow stars Jason Alexander, known for his roles in "Seinfeld" and "Pretty Woman," and Hank Azaria, who provides the voices for Moe Szyslak and Chief Clancy Wiggum in the American version of "The Simpsons."
At the moment, only one bid has been placed for this table, which stands at around 5,000 US dollars.
The second poker table offers a star-studded lineup with Jon Hamm from the film "Mad Men," Jimmi Simpson from "It's always sunny in Philadelphia," and Rachel Bloom from the series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." Rachel Bloom won a Golden Globe in 2016 for her role in the show "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as "Best TV Series Lead Actress - Comedy or Musical."
The final group includes Michael Ian Black, a screenwriter and actor who has appeared in "Ed - The Bowling Lawyer" TV series, and Kevin Pollak, a comedian and acting colleague. Completing the table is Brad Garrett, an actor known for "Everybody Loves Raymond."
The charity event prioritizes fun over skills, so bidders should expect a light-hearted experience during the two-hour session. Interested bidders have until June 10th to submit their bids.
