Youths from Yakutia will demonstrate their wrestling skills in Krasnoyarsk, showcasing their prowess in a free wrestling event.

The 20th International Freestyle Wrestling Championships for Youth under 18 is taking place in Krasnoyarsk from September 5 to 7, 2023, attracting over 300 cadets from various regions of the country and abroad. The event is being held at the Ivan Yarygin Sports Palace, a renowned venue for wrestling competitions.

The championships are dedicated to six-time European and World Champion, three-time Olympic Champion Buvaisar Saitiev, a legendary figure in the world of wrestling. The competition is set to be fierce, with several talented young wrestlers listed in the preliminary rosters.

The Yakut team has 23 young wrestlers, including Aytal Mikhailov, Anton Grigoryev, Arian Vinokurov, and Leonid Pavlov, listed in the 51 kg category. Other notable names include Dmitriy Danilov, Dyulustaan Kapitonov, Aleksandr Zhdantov, Vasiliy Grigoryev, Gogolev Erchimen, and Danilov Ayal in the 55 kg, 60 kg, and 65 kg categories.

The competition starts with the opening ceremony on September 5 at 17:00, followed by the semi-final bouts for all weight categories (42, 48, 55, 65, 80, 110 kg) at 18:00. The final bouts for weight categories 42, 48, 55, 65, 80, and 110 kg take place on September 6 at 18:00, with the awards ceremony immediately following.

The competition for weight categories 80, 110 kg continues on September 7, and the awards ceremony for these categories will take place later in the day. The competition for weight categories 45, 51, 60, 71, and 92 kg starts on the second day of the tournament, September 6, and concludes on September 7.

Unfortunately, the German participants at the tournament have not been publicly specified in available sources. However, it is expected that they will contribute to the competitive spirit of the event.

The closing ceremony of the tournament will mark the end of the competition on September 7, wrapping up an exciting three days of wrestling action in Krasnoyarsk. The championships are a testament to the enduring popularity of wrestling and the nurturing of young talent in the sport.
