Gathering School Complaints by the Children and Adolescent Parliament

In the heart of Germany, the University City of Marburg is once again taking part in a heartwarming initiative. The Marburg Children's and Youth Parliament (KiJuPa) is organising its 15th annual schoolbag collection drive, with the aim of supporting children and young people in Sibiu, Romania, who cannot afford schoolbags.

This year, the campaign has the support of the "Help for Sibiu/Hermannstadt e.V." association, an organisation that has been instrumental in promoting cooperation between Marburg and its twin city, Sibiu.

The schoolbag collection drive in Marburg has been a tradition for 15 years. Since 2010, over 2,700 schoolbags have been collected, providing essential school supplies to children in need.

KiJuPa is accepting used but functional schoolbags and backpacks at the House of Youth, KiJuPa office (Room 410), or at the reception. The drive is open for donations until Thursday, October 2.

The collection of schoolbags in Marburg promotes sustainability and careful handling of resources. By reusing schoolbags, the campaign encourages the community to think about the environment and the importance of recycling.

The schoolbags collected will be taken to Sibiu, Romania, during the fall. They will be distributed to children in need, helping them to start the new school year equipped with the necessary tools for learning.
