Xbox Alleged Prices Revealed: Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X Potential Costs Leaked, Potentially Less Expensive Than Anticipated
The tech world is abuzz with excitement as we get our first glimpse at the potential prices for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Ally range. Although official confirmation is yet to come from Microsoft and ASUS, various leaks and unofficial sources suggest that the Xbox Ally X could cost approximately $899 in the USA.
In the United States, the prices are expected to match the sticker price, rather than undergo a simple currency conversion. However, it's important to note that these figures are subject to change, and we won't know the final prices until ASUS and Microsoft reveal them.
Across the pond, Europe is expected to see the Xbox Ally priced at €599, with the Xbox Ally X set at €899. Interestingly, the base model is estimated to be around €100 cheaper than its higher-end predecessor in Europe.
The first handheld device in the Xbox Ally range, codenamed Kennan, is in development with ASUS ROG and is powered by Z2 APUs. This high-end model, the Xbox Ally X, is estimated to cost $899 in the USA, and €899 in Europe.
In contrast, the lower-end ASUS ROG Ally is listed at $499 on ASUS' website, while the current ASUS ROG Ally X typically has an RRP of $799, but some retailers like Best Buy have it at $899.
The new Xbox Ally devices will offer a heavily customized Windows 11 experience, with boot-to-full-screen-app capabilities, making them Windows 11 gaming PCs in essence. The new Xbox app will handle multi-tasking and other system features with an interface more intuitive for controller use.
It's worth noting that Microsoft is not likely to subsidize the Xbox Ally due to its transition to a PC-focused business model. This could mean that the prices, while potentially high due to the devices' capabilities, may not be as inflated as some might expect.
