Worms’ New Adventure Playground Blends Play, Ecology, and Inclusion for 2025

A new adventure playground is set to open at Worms’ Fish Market in 2025. The project, a collaboration between the city and Wohnungsbau Worms, will include an interactive play feature called River Whispers—a discovery gate designed to teach children about the Rhine, water, and climate through play. Organisers are now racing to raise the final funds needed to bring the project to life.

The River Whispers gate will stand as the centrepiece of the playground, offering an inclusive space for children of all abilities. The structure will incorporate ecological themes, encouraging learning through hands-on activities. To ensure accessibility, the design will accommodate different needs and backgrounds, adhering to accessibility standards.

The playground’s completion depends on hitting the crowdfunding target by the deadline. Once finished, the site will offer a mix of adventure, education, and accessibility for children in Worms. The project’s success will also mark a new community space at the heart of the Fish Market, potentially boosting the stock market today.
