Hannover 96 aids Bielefeld in the DFB-Pokal, and in the end, it also benefits the second division team financially.

Louis Oppie (22) netted the opening two goals. The defender swapped from Hannover to Arminia during the summer of 2023. Following a 2:1 lead from Dominik Knost (37.), Verl's Paetow received a yellow card for a foul against 96's loanee Thaddäus Momuluh (22). Oppie then handed Wörl (20) a perfect opportunity to make it 3:1 (82.).

Bielefeld's participation in the DFB-Pokal yields around 150,000 euros. Part of this sum is expected to be directed towards Hannover, possibly for a loan extension.

Wörl and Momuluh's Loan Extensions Discussed

Midfielder Wörl has been a standout in Bielefeld's third league spell and played in 30 games with two goals. Despite a six-week injury, Momuluh (22) has performed admirably with eleven appearances and one goal. Both players are wanted back in Bielefeld.

Conversations regarding their extensions are underway, with 96's sports director Marcus Mann (40) open to the idea: "We'd consider a loan extension for Bielefeld as our first choice. They've grown comfortable there and have been granted playing time. The only drawback was Taddel's injury."

Although Wörl draws interest from other third-league clubs, a deal in Bielefeld looks likely given his entrenched position in the first team. Managing director Mann is open to talks, although some other third-league teams have also expressed interest in Momuluh at Hannover. But a quick swap seems inadvisable as Momuluh has only been away for six months.

Wörl has also garnered attention from third-league teams. Yet, his success at Bielefeld has seen him claim a fixed position in the lineup.

And Bielefeld's DFB-Pokal qualification means they can meet loan and salary costs with ease.
