Workplace health in the spotlight: Lüneburg district oversees massive initiative in the Hamburg metropolitan area

The district of Lüneburg is leading a significant new project, "Perspective Work & Health", aimed at offering a first point of contact for individuals under pressure or already ill, particularly focusing on the social care, nursing, and hospitality sectors.

With the financial support of the German Pension Insurance North, the Professional Association for Health and Welfare, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Schwerin, the German Trade Union Confederation North, and four other co-financiers in the Hamburg metropolitan region, over one million euros has been secured for the project.

The project, under the coordination of Leading District Administrator Franziska Welz, aims to create additional counseling services for employed individuals, employers, self-employed persons, and trainees over the next three years. The specific groups are emphasized because they are often at risk due to pressure to succeed or lack of experience in protecting their health at work.

Three other counseling centers will be established in Lübeck, Schwerin, and Hamburg to ensure that companies and employees can be reached where help is needed. The Lüneburg counseling center is expected to open in September.

The goal of the project, as stated by Michael Gümbel, is to network existing offers and guide people to the support that suits them best. The "Work & Health" association, which continues to implement the project, expresses gratitude to the additional co-financiers for financially enabling the project.

The "Perspective Work & Health" project focuses on promoting young people starting their careers, self-employed individuals, founders, and employed individuals with a migration background. It aims to help people across the entire metropolitan region maintain and improve their health at work.

The district of Lüneburg received active support from the Office for Regional Development Lüneburg during the application process. The project aims to help those in need, offering a much-needed resource for the region's workforce.
